It is a great day for Milan as they announced the signing of Croatian midfielder Luka “Luka” Modric.
The deal is worth €5m, with Milan paying an additional €2.5m in add-ons for the 24-year-old.
Milan will pay €1.6m in the first year, €1m in two years, €2m in three years and €3.5 million in the last four years.
Modric was one of the most sought-after signings in Europe this summer, with clubs including Liverpool and Real Madrid all lining up a move for the player.
He joined Milan from Borussia Dortmund in 2015 for €16m, but after a slow start to his career he eventually made the move to Serie A, where he became a key figure in the Milan side.
After a fine season in Serie A last season, Modric is set to become the most expensive signing of the season, with Real Madrid looking to sign the player from Real Madrid.
Luka Modrric was born in Zagreb, Croatia, and moved to Italy at the age of four.
